"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." - Carl Rogers

This insight from Carl Rogers speaks to the heart of talking therapy, emphasising the importance of self-acceptance as the first step towards meaningful change. In the therapeutic process, clients are encouraged to explore their feelings and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment. By embracing their authentic selves, individuals can unlock the potential for growth and transformation, allowing them to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.

Your mental wellness journey starts with one brave step—why not take it today?

Who will you be working with?

My name is Charlene and as an integrative counsellor, I blend the principles of person-centred therapy with cognitive behavioural techniques to provide a holistic approach to mental health.

My aim is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel empowered to explore your thoughts and feelings.

By combining these modalities, I tailor my approach to meet your needs as a unique individual, promoting personal growth and resilience in your journey towards well-being.

A little bit about me

I believe that every person’s story is unique and deserves to be heard with compassion, respect, and curiosity. My approach to counselling draws on different therapeutic models, which allows me to adapt to each client’s individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing and growth come from self   acceptance and the courage to embrace who we truly are.

I am deeply passionate about the practices of gratitude and mindfulness, which I find not only transformative in my own life but also powerful tools in supporting others. These practices help us slow down, connect with the present moment, and open up space for inner peace and happiness to grow even in the midst of life’s challenges.

Outside of my counselling practice, I love to travel in my caravan. Exploring new places, meeting different people, and sharing experiences on the road bring me joy and continually remind me of the richness and diversity of life. These adventures feed my love of connection and inspire me to bring openness, flexibility, and curiosity into my work with clients.

Ultimately, I feel privileged to walk alongside people on their journeys, creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore, grow, and discover their own strength and resilience.
